As I walk around in life, this keeps coming out of my mouth: That I May Know Him.
I see this in everything. Every single situation is a situation to Know Him. It doesn’t make everything Hyper-Spiritual. Quite the opposite. It makes everything Life. We can discover life everywhere: trees, clouds, sound, tears, hunger, discomfort, torn muscles, loss.
That I May Know Him is in Philippians 3, and definitely worth a read.
that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
I live in a town that preaches a Try Harder gospel. It’s not True. It springs out of the False, like anything rooted in Self.
Try Harder is shouting on every corner and leads to a 2×5 jail cell of Control.
Know Him is the whisper in your heart and leads to freedom. (Hey, let’s hike up the mountain together…)
